Want to wake up refreshed, relaxed, and be able to get ready without a fuss? Here are 3 tips to help you on that happiness journey.
1. Pick out your outfit, accessories, and even makeup – the night before:
Even if you end up changing your mind, having your outfit and accessories picked out the night before will help you get out of your PJs a lot quicker in the morning, without the fuss of trying outfit after outfit. I like to even take out any makeup products I plan on using so that nothing is left for the last minute.
This simple task can help you feel less stressed in the morning and help give you more time to either sleep in, make a healthy breakfast, or read.

2. Write a short journal entry:
Nothing too time-consuming, just take two-three minutes to write down what you were grateful for on this day, a few things that went well, and maybe an intention for the next day. You could use your phone to jot things down, a notebook – or even The Five Minute Journal, which used studies on happiness and productivity to design their journaling prompts. Another option is the One Sentence Journal from Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project.
Having a record of your day and/or little reminders of happiness is a wonderful thing to reflect on before you make your way to dreamland.
3. Give your body a little stretch:
While a full 90 minute yoga routine seems like an impossible amount of time to commit too before bed, a five-ten minute one shouldn’t be a problem. I am a huge fan of Tara Stiles and her online yoga routines, and she has a playlist 10 minute and shorter yoga routines designed to help you get to sleep faster and more relaxed. Whenever I do one of her bedtime routines, I feel amazing. I fall asleep faster and wake up more alert with a body that isn’t yelling at me. You know that feeling? When you wake up all scrunched up with tight muscles? That is now a thing of the past with these simple routines.
Now, these three tips don’t seem to hard, right? Give it a try tonight, you’ll want to thank me after you do.
